How it works
Understanding is a conversation
Bring the context. Talk it through. Keep the clarity.
- 01
Bring the context
Start from anything — text you capture, a plan you paste, a doc you're reading, or a handoff from your coding agent. Nina opens the discussion with the full picture.
- 02
Talk it through
Voice-first conversation with agents that have real memory and know your knowledge base. Interrupt, redirect, go deep — they keep the thread.
- 03
Keep the clarity
Decisions and reasoning land in long-term memory. Weeks later, ask why something was decided and pick up the thread mid-thought.
Features
Built for deep work, not chat windows
Everything is designed around one idea: thinking out loud with agents that know your context.
Voice-first, not voice-only
Real-time conversation with natural barge-in, powered by Gemini Live. Type when it's quieter — the transcript stays one continuous thread.
Multi-agent huddles
Bring a skeptic, a strategist, and an engineer into the same call. Each agent keeps its own personality, voice, and expertise.
Memory and knowledge
Decisions, preferences, and your knowledge base — recalled across every discussion, searchable, and yours to forget.
Coding-agent handoff
Claude Code, Cursor, and any MCP client can start a voice discussion or generate a narrated deck — straight from your editor.
Offline mode
Local speech synthesis with Kokoro and Piper, on-device inference, and a sync outbox that catches up when you're back online.
Narrated presentations
Dense material becomes a slide deck Nina presents aloud — section by section, at your pace.
Narrated presentations
Walls of text become walkthroughs
Hand Nina an implementation plan, a spec, or a dense doc. Get back a narrated deck that breaks it down section by section — at your pace, with room for questions.
- Implementation plans and specs become section-by-section walkthroughs
- Ask questions mid-deck — the narration picks up where it left off
- Generated from your actual context, never a generic template
Coding agents
Your coding agent can hand you the mic
Nina runs a local MCP bridge on your machine. Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and any MCP-compatible agent can start a voice discussion or build a narrated presentation from the exact context you're working on.
- Discuss the diff you just wrote — without leaving your editor
- Turn a debugging session into a narrated walkthrough deck
- Context flows from your coding agent into the conversation

FAQ
Questions, answered
What is Nina?
Nina is a voice-first AI companion for macOS. Talk through code, plans, and documents with AI agents that remember your decisions and know your knowledge base — one-on-one or in multi-agent huddles. Nina can also turn dense material into narrated slide walkthroughs.
Which platforms are supported?
Nina is available for macOS on Apple Silicon and Intel. Other platforms are on the roadmap.
Does Nina work offline?
Yes. Offline mode synthesizes speech on-device with Kokoro (English) and Piper (other languages), keeps working without a network, and syncs through a local outbox when you reconnect.
Which coding agents does it work with?
Any MCP-compatible agent. Nina runs a local MCP bridge and ships /nina-discuss and /nina-slides skills for Claude Code and Cursor out of the box — your agent can start a voice discussion or generate a narrated deck from the context at hand.
How much does it cost?
There's a free plan with starter usage included. Nina Pro is $20/month and Nina Max is $60/month, each with matching monthly usage, and one-time top-ups are available. Voice usage is metered transparently in dollars — no abstract credit math.
Is my data private?
Your discussions and memory are yours. Memory search and forgetting are built in, offline inference keeps audio on-device, and the backend is self-hostable end to end.
